JG BAR 10 Airsoft Sniper Rifle Impresses On Performance And Value

Airsoft Sniper Rifles and being a sniper are a fun role in Airsoft competition. Getting good requires having a good Airsoft Sniper Rifle; while a good rifle can’t make up for bad fieldcraft or marksmanship, a bad rifle can render either of those two moot.

Enter the JG BAR 10, the Jing Gong Bolt Action Rifle 10. It’s modeled off of a fairly generic bolt action rifle that isn’t quite an M1 Garand. So, this isn’t a replica piece working as an Airsoft gun, it’s an Airsoft gun that matches the basic template for about a thousand different models of gun. It’s a spring gun, which has its plusses and minuses – the plus side is that the spring action keeps the cost down, the down side is rate of fire. The spring on these is pretty tight; it shoots pretty well out of the box. You won’t find a lot of AEG ’sniper rifles’ because rate of fire doesn’t matter as much.

Out of the box, firing 0.20 g rounds, tests demonstrated a good shot grouping at 404 feet per second; with the usual adjustments, we can easily see this gun going to 500 feet per second, maybe higher. As always, for sniper work, you want to shoot heavier than 0.20 g rounds. When tested with 0.30 g and with the stops tightened up with some black electricians tape, it shot over 380 feet per second.

Build quality is pretty good; it’s excellent considering that new, this gun runs under $170. The cylinder assembly and trigger assembly are all metal, and it looks like it should be good and reliable. The weapon is light – it’s lighter than a real gun of the same dimensions – making it easily portable. The attachment rails are all compatible with Marui components like a bipod or a scope mount.

In accuracy tests, it was decent accuracy, but not earthshaking. We’ve seen more accurate guns, but we’ve also seen a lot less accurate as well. In terms of handling, the light weight is a plus; it’s got a rubberized neoprene style coating on the stock which makes it good to grip. It looks like the trigger assembly is compatible with other manufacturer’s parts.

All in all, the JG BAR 10 is impressive. If you’re looking for a good introductory airsoft sniper rifle under $200, this is one of the ones to look over; the only reason not to get it is if you’ve got an extra hundred bucks to buy something a bit heavier duty with finer tolerances. But this is an excellent airsoft sniper rifle to begin your airsoft sniper career.
